Hampton Designer Showhouse 2023: Step Inside the East End Villa
From transportive spaces to calming retreats, the Hampton Designer Showhouse’s melange of interiors offers fresh design ideas for all
At 499 Broadway in Southampton, New York, a rambling new abode custom designed by Cavallo Building is the winsome setting for this year’s edition of the Hampton Designer Showhouse. Presented by HC&G (Hamptons Cottages & Gardens), the annual event is once again raising funds for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, with public tours running through September 3.
Honorary guest chairs Alexa Hampton and Jamie Drake lead the charge, as the house features some 30 spaces decked out by 20 interior designers, complete with summertime tablescapes by AreaEdit, Huniford Design Studio, Mottahedeh, and Natalie Annette Design.
Bedroom by Nea Studio:
When Nina Edwards Anker’s son was diagnosed with cancer as a child, he received top-notch care at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, the showhouse’s benefactor. He’s a survivor, and Edwards Anker’s gratitude prompted her to “create a healing bedroom that connects with nature.” She chose non-toxic materials from companies like Odegard Carpets, WB Woodworking, and Sutherland Felt Company, culminating in a biophilic space that flaunts organic foams in the upholstered seating and Nea Studio–designed pieces like a crystallized headboard and algae lampshades. “The soft green glow of light through seaweed in my Chlorophyta lights echoes the luminous green and gold hand-painted wallpaper from Fromental,” Edwards Anker muses, “as well as the painting by Eric Dever depicting shimmering water lilies on a local pond.”
