We are pleased to announce that Ann Purcell received three grants from important and highly respected art organizations this past year.  In October 2013, Purcell was awarded a grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts.  In February 2014 she received a grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation.  Most recently in October 2014 she won a grant from the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation. 

In 1988 she was the recipient of the Lester Hereward Cooke Foundation Grant for mid-career achievement from the National Gallery of Art and in 1989 she received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.

Throughout her career, numerous solo exhibitions of her work were held at museums and galleries including Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC and Tibor de Nagy, New York.  She took part in important museum group exhibitions including Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Ann Purcell is represented in many museum collections including Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York; Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC; Phillips Collection, Washington, DC; Santa Barbara Museum, California; Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, among many others.

We are pleased to be exhibiting her work from the 1970s.  The exhibition will take place January 8 through February 7th, 2015.
