Berry Campbell Opens in New York

A new gallery has opened its doors in the Chelsea district of New York. The Berry Campbell Gallery, at 530 West 24th Street, is to present post-war and contemporary art, aiming to showcase established, mid-career and emerging artists, including Avedisian, Walter Darby Bannard, Eric Dever, Ken Greenleaf, Raymond Hendler, Jodie Manasevit, William Perehudoff and Ann Purcell.

In the past, Christine Berry has worked at the heart of the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth and at the Whitney Museum, while Martha Campbell worked at the Phillips Collection in Washington before directing an important New York gallery, specialising in contemporary and modern art.

For its inaugural exhibition, the gallery is presenting “William Perehudoff: Color Field Paintings from the 1980’s”, from 17 October to 16 November 2013. The show comprises of fifteen [sic] paintings of the Canadian artist, who died in 2013.
